My CT475 has developed a severe case of microphonics. When I touch the
case surrounding the screen, the sound is amplified. Closing the lid
results in a loud squealing feedback until the lid switch automatically
shuts off the computer. Is this a software or hardware problem, and
what is the resolution? Thanks.

That model has a microphone, yes? Make sure it is muted from the "advanced" sound properties panel. Steve | |||||
