| | Hi Stuart, longtime etc,
My CT450 started to do this all by itself, after about 18 months use, no
change of BIOS (still on 1.41 I think), no repair etc.
I sent the battery back, assuming it was dead, and received a new one in
return. And nothing changed.
So now the system is on its way for repair.

    I have just got my Hinote CT475 back from repair and they upgraded to
    1.42 BIOS - this may or may not be part of the problem.
    When I boot,the battery indicator is zero(actually 1%).After 10 minutes
    it is full(actually 91%).If I then pull the power cord, the machine
    dies instantly.
    Is this a dead battery?I have tried resets and obviously can't 'form'
    the battery.
    Any ideas??

|  |     well..I tried Bios 1.41,1.40 and 1.42 again with a new battery.Same
    problem - charge indicator is zero, then 90-91% after 10 minutes but it
    actually flat.
    How can we still have such fundamental problems on our PCs
    ferchrissakes?I have spent more time and money screwing around with
    this than the cost of a new machine.
