In one of the sunday school classes I used to teach , I asked the following question as instructed by the manual : "What does it mean to be chaste?" One of the girls, not very active, and not so knowledgeable about the Church raised her hand for once, proud that she might know the answer and said : "wasn't this when the mobs "chased" the mormons and persecuted them ?" ...at least she was trying to participate ...! I've never forgotten her comment and made sure from that time on to check with her on various principles, after class, just she and I, to help her in her progression . It also encouraged me to make sure that I was explaining words that were obvious to me ...! just semantics !!! have a smiley day !

I once heard something that went like this: "...An english sentence can be infinitly less precise than a mathematical equation..." Words are indeed slippery things but when they are put together properly they can paint pictures in your mind, transport you to places you have never seen, make you feel like its raining outside when its actually sunny...OOPs, guess I was chaste[ing] rainbows. dave |
