Hi,
I'm going to upgrade a customer's ALL-IN-1 IOS system from v2.3 to
v3.0 on VMS v5.5-2. This is my first time to do so, and I need the
advices from those who have similar experience. Here are questions
I need to ask:
- is it possible to upgrade from v2.3 to v3.0 directly ?
- anyone can give me the pointer of the v3.0 release notes and
upgrade/installation guide ?
- the customer's current ALL-IN-1 v2.3 is installed in the system
disk ( with 130,000 free blocks ) and OA$SHARE directories in
another disk, would there be any special concern needed for
this ?
Your prompt reply would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
SML

Yes, you can upgrade directly from V2.3 to V3.0. You might like to
consider simultaneously upgrading to V3.1, which is now available. The
V3.1 kit is announced in a recent note, and the V3.0 kit is announced
in Note 7.* of this conference. You must not use these kits on the
customer site, but you can use them to get the release notes and copy
the Installation Guide.
130,000 blocks may be slightly on the low side for the installs,
although I can't remember the numbers exactly now. You would be well
advised to move at least some of the ALL-IN-1 system off the system
disc for performance and space reasons.
