I have a problem with sending postscript documents as attachments through 
message router.  If I send a postscript document on the same ALL-IN-1 system 
when it is read is displays "can't display as postscript document".  When 
printed to a postscript printer it prints fine.  
If I send it to another office it goes through message router, when they 
read it they see all the postscript details that wouldn't be a problem but 
it appears to put a funny character as the beginning, it looks like a 
large,bold backward question mark.  To get these to print, have to file 
attached, edit document and remove this character so that %!PS-Adobe...  is 
the first line.

Question, what is causing this, and how can I stop it happening?

	What is the filename extension, data type and handling at the sending end? And at the receiving end? What is the recipient's mail address? What gateways, if any, does the message pass through? For example, does the recipient's MTS address direct their mail to MRGATE, and do they have VMSmail autoforwarded back into ALL-IN-1? ALL-IN-1 on its own doesn't add extra characters to message bodyparts. Something along the line is either performing an erroneous conversion, or losing the fact that the bodypart is PostScript. Scott

	The document was an Excel spreadsheet which had been printed to an Encasulated postscript file. test.ps. This was then transferred into a folder and document using DT, RVC. If you Read it the following is displayed "PostScript document type cannot be displayed" The handling type is WPSplus. This can be sent to a person on the same ALL-IN-1 system without any problem it is only when you use message router that there is a problem. I can sent it to myself i.e create message TO: Todd but if I sent it TO: TODD@EDO thats when the problem arises. Sent to TODD@EDO results in when you read the document you see all the postscript details but with this backward question mark which needs to edited out before the document will print. The handling type is still wpsplus. If I change it to be PS it still prints out OK but you can't read it. I can send you the mail if you want and you will see what I mean. Hope this helps Liz

	What version of ALL-IN-1 are you using, and is it customized? On an uncustomized ALL-IN-1 V3.0 system a DT RVC of a .PS file will not set the Document Handling to WPSPLUS. A handling of WPSPLUS will cause ALL-IN-1 to process the document as a revisable type. PostScript is a final-form document type, that is, it does not need to be formatted for printing. Richard

	This is internal ALL-IN-1 which is well customised V3.0. If I go into ALL-IN-1 as nocustom, then do the document transfer its handling type is blank. When I read it is gives we the same message about displaying postscript documents. I have tried it with the handling type set to blank it works fine. Don't know where it is picking up the wpsplus from but that seems to be what is causig the problem. Still don't understand what the backward question mark is and why if it is doing the convert it should pick this up. Liz
