It should close the corresponding logical links. I think you are
trying to find out what "Drawer timeout" is and what it has to do with
closing corresponding logical links, if I am correct.
Well if we go to basics, the maintenance of DECnet logical links is the
responsibility of the application DECnet just provides a means to
create/make use of these links. When a drawer is exited "normally" the
FCS will close these links off.

Now if the client for example TeamLinks, for some reason aborts
abnoramally those DECnet links are still active. The application uses
the timeout parameter to see if the link has been inactive for n secs
as defined by the above mentioned parameter, if so it will terminate
the link. If the application didn't do this what would happen is that
the available links (MAX LINKS) would gradually be eaten up and clients
    wouldn't be able to connect.

If I have made a mistake I guess Bob or someone will correct me. On
the other hand I may have misunderstood your question and answered a
    question you hadn't asked :-) !!!!

    Regards,

    Sunil,

    Sorry,more.....

I have just called the customer & he informed me that the
DECnet logical link of SRV 73 for a certain user remained open
at 17:30 even that PC user had access the drawer in the morning
    which is about 08:00

Can it be the problem with the setup of the FCS or ... ?

    Any idea ?

    Thanks & Regards.

    Tony.
