    Hi,
    
    This is an extension of the problem reported in note 3689 with title
    "How to restart EmptyWastebasket batch ?" since the customer is not
    very happy about the EW using dept.  (The customer is running
    ALL-IN-1 IOS V2.3 on VMS V5.4-2.)
    
    The customer still wish to have the capability of "RESTARTING" the
    EW batch ( that is, resume the operation starting from the point before
    shutdown ) after shut-down of ALL-IN-1. (They're planning to upgrade
    to ALL-IN-1 IOS V3.0 in the near future). Questions:
    
    Q1. Is it possible to do so in v2.3 ?
    Q2. Is it possible to do so in v3.0 ?
    Q3. If the answer of Q2 is NO, could we SPR it as a wish-feature ?
    Q4. Is there any customized utility that work the same way available ?

    I think I should consolidate .0 and 3689 here to clarify the picture
    and avoid misunderstanding :
    
    
    A customer running ALL-IN-1 IOS V2.3 has a problem in doing EmptyWasteBasket
    batch job. He run this batch job within a fixed period each day,after that
    period the ALL-IN-1 would be shutdown and other jobs continues. As more and
    more documents in the Wastebasket, there's not enough time for this batch 
    to be completed. After ALL-IN-1 is shutdown, the batch would be terminated 
    and the process couldn't continue. 
    
    Questions
    
    Q1 Is it possible to stop the EW batch (just before ALL-IN-1 shutdown)
       temporary and restart/resume it after ALL-IN-1 is restarted in V2.3
       or V3.0 ?
    
    Q2 If the answer of Q1 is NO, could it be SPR as a wish-feature ?
    Q3 Is there any customized utility working available ?   
    
    
    Any idea/comment ?

    Hi,
    
    What you are asking for is not in any ALL-IN-1 release, but could be
    achieved by customisation. I do not know of anybody who has done it
    before, but let's hope that someone has.
