    Hi All,

One of our customers has noticed that his mails on the shared areas
    have protection: G:RWE,W:RWE.

    He has ALL-IN-1 v3.0A & VMS 5.5.

He has changed the protection of all the mails in the shared areas to
have G: ,W: with no privs.

However, all new mails created have attached the G:RWE,W:RWE
    protection.

Where is the system getting these protections from? So that we can
change the protection of new mails automatically?

    The *DAF* files are also with (g:RWE , W: )... ???

Thank you all very much for all your help
    	Best Regards
    	Ana

| New files in the mail shared areas pick their protection mask up from
the relevant SDAF. At least, they have since V2.0 and I assume that
this is still the case in V3.0A.

So, the golden rule is to have correct file protection on the SDAFs.
    This is:

    (S:WRE, O:RWED, G, W)

    IMHO,

    Tony
