  Is it possible that TRM could corrupt the SDAF during repair ?
  
  I've got a customer who has problem running TRM on oa$daf_a.dat but
  not on other mail areas. CABFIX was run to discover and recovered errors
  found in this mail area. 

  However, this mail area will be corrupted after TRM is next
  run (but failed to complete - has to be aborted) although CABFIX found
    *0*  error, minutes before TRM runs.
  
  Cabfix command to verify file:
  CABFIX /OUTPUT=LIVE.RPT /LOG /SHARE /RECOVER=SEARCH -
  /WARNINGS=(COUNTS,SIZES,VALUES) OA$SHARA:OA$DAF_A.DAT /FORMAT=DAF

  Before TRM was run:
  Total of 122355/135217 records processed (0 errors)
  SYSOPS       job terminated at 12-FEB-1994 10:42:26.87

  Total of 121822/134653 records processed (0 errors)
  SYSOPS       job terminated at 13-FEB-1994 01:35:32.19

  After TRM was run at 2am on 13 Feb 1994:
  Total of 121741/132682 records processed (26 errors)
  SYSOPS       job terminated at 13-FEB-1994 09:35:35.71

  I have submitted TRM to run without performing any repair this weekend.
  
  Any comments ?

    if .0 is at V2.4, this is pretty close to what i was seeing at my
    customer site. after upgrading to v3.0 TRM has run successfully for me.

3881.3It's v2.4 with patch k603ZPOVC::CHINGYUETue Feb 15 1994 01:4117
    It's ver 2.4 patched up to k603 with wordperfect 5.1-1 integrated.
    
    Even if v3.0 can resolve this problem, I still find it strange that
    TRM works on the other 3 SDAFs but 'corrupt' just SDAF_A.
    (TRM runs fine on SDAF_A months back)
    
    There has been no errors found in FCVRSLAVEPROCESSid.log and 
    OA$FCVR_KR_1994021302000000000id.DAT. SMLOG1.TMP and SMLOG2.tmp
    implied that phase 2 has completed. 
    
    All the files that were created when TRM last run has been placed on
    node 22.128 on directory $1$dia2:[chingyue]
    
    Feel free to look atthem if you're interested.

    my custmer has 5 mail areas open and TRM only "corrupted" SDAF_E.

    When TRM was run with repair *disabled*, it went through smoothly.
    Can I conclude that part of OA$SM_FCVR.EXE file, namely the repair
    module corrupts the SDAF records ?
    
    I would love to upgrade to IOS v3.0 if that can get rid of the problem.
    But as it is the customer's system, it's their decision, and it'll take 
    a little while.
    
    Is there anything I can do in the meantime ? I've run out of ideas.
