Someone has mentioned to me that there is a bug when upgrading from ALL-IN-1 
French V2.4 to V3.0, where old mail messages contain a document type of 
MESSSAGE (notice the 3 S's).

I have a site in Canada that is experiencing the problem but with new mail 
messages.  When a new mail arrives (in some instances) it has a type of 
MESSSAGE and reading new mail causes ALL-IN-1 to get stuck on this particular 
message.

Does anyone in Europe/France know about this?

    this problem has been fixed a year ago. Please have a look in 2422.*.
    The easiest way to fix it is to install the MUPA.
    Also refer to directory PAULUS::DIAMOND$BUGFIXES$PUBLIC:<french>
