    Hi,
    
    	We're considering replacing one of our ALL-IN-1 clusters with
    a 4000-700A.  However, this machine requires a "special" version
    of VMS, v5.5-2H4.  This version is only available with the new
    systems.  Has anyone had ALL-IN-1 v2.4 running on this environment?

	Hi Andrew and Cliff, >what's "special" about this version of OpenVMS. Well the OpenVMS article in Stars states that it's no different to 5.5-2. It provides extra support for the 4000-700A and the various hardware adaptors such: o DEFTA - FDDI to TURBOchannel adapter o DEFQA - FDDI to Q-bus adapter The cover letter for OpenVMS V5.5-2H4 states all of this. From the cover letter it appears that it's a special release to support certain hardware types. The letter also states the following: "The software functionality of OpenVMS VAX Version 5.5-2H4 is identical to the generally available OpenVMS VAX V5.5-2 release." So you should be okay, if not let us know ! I guess we have solved this Cliff hanger :-) !!!!! Regards, Sunil
