PS I think that if there are some missing valid areas, then it would
probably make a good SPR too :-)

They are not. Postscript tables contain overlay definitions
with text like "COMPANY CONFIDENTIAL" and "DRAFT".
Some customers expect these to be translated.

The example in the dutch user guide
even contains a translated PRINTER TABLE command.

| | Hi All,

    >tables are language independent?

Jan my friend I am not disputing what you have said but there does
appear to be a bit of an anomaly. For example the logicals pointing to
    the printer tables are:

      "WPL$PRT" = "WPL$SITE_PRT_SHARE"
            = "WPL$PRT_SHARE"
            = "OA$LIB_LLV"
      "WPL$PRT_SHARE" = "$1$DIA1:[ALLIN1.PRINT]"
      "WPL$SITE_PRT_SHARE" = "$1$DIA1:[ALLIN1.SITE.PRINT]"

      "KOA$PRINT_DIR" = "KOA$SITE_PRINT_SHARE"
            = "KOA$PRINT_SHARE"
            = "OA$LIB_LLV"
      "KOA$PRINT_SHARE" = "$1$DIA1:[ALLIN1.PRINT]"
      "KOA$SITE_PRINT_SHARE" = "$1$DIA1:[ALLIN1.SITE.PRINT]"

On my system which is British with the US_GB dialect, we don't have any
.PRA's and .PRC's in the OA$LIB_LLV area. Also CM$AUTH$LOCATIONS does
not have an entry in for all of the above logicals, perhaps an internal
SPR should be raised by me and I will do so.

This call drove me a bit made as the customer was unable to move the
.PRA's to a language dependant area or to KOA$* areas. In short we
need to tidy up CM so that we can move the printer tables to the
    correct locations.

    Regards,

    Sunil

PS - Andrew this is the 2nd time you have asked me to write something
for Stars. I have't got a clue how to submit the article if you send
me an EM I write something up.

| | Sunil,

I assume that we all (CSCs that is) had access to STARS - what do you
guys use for an electronic database of problem reports, troubleshooting
    etc...

See you write all these articles and I can read them thus meaning i
don't have to write them and can do something more important - like
    filing expense claims

It's more than just this one logical.

    1) Directory [.PRINT] must be deleted
    2) Directories [.PRINT_SHARE]/[.PRINT_<language>] need to be created
    3) Logicals WPL$SITE_PRT_<language> and WPL$PRT_<language> must be
       defined
    4) Logical WPL$PRT needs to be redefined
    5) logicals WPL$SITE_PRT_LLV and WPL$PRT_LLV must be defined
    6) CM$SDC.DISK_LOCATION needs to be changed for all LLV printer tables
    7) WPL$SITE_PRT_<language> must be added to CM$AUTH$LOCATIONS.DAT
    8) WPL$PRT_<language> and WPL$PRT_LLV must be added to
       CM$SDC$LOCATIONS.DAT
    9) Logicals KOA$SITE_PRINT_<language> and KOA$PRINT_<language> must be
       defined
    10) Logical KOA$PRINT_DIR needs to be redefined
    11) KOA$PRINT_<language> must be added to CM$SDC$LOCATIONS.DAT

    Ciao,

    	Simon
