| 3181.1 | Try running the FCS interactively | TINNIE::SETHI | Chin wagging at DECUS on MAILworks | Sun Aug 29 1993 06:53 | 21 |
|  |     Hi Gil,

    Have you tried to run the FCS interactively ? To do this simply do the
    following : $RUN SYS$SYSTEM:OAFC$SERVER, this may provide us with more
    information.

    >We are getting a lot of calls from users - when they go to Edit
    >documents they just hang.

    There are a number of topics that discuss this issue in here have you
    seen them ? Have you tuned the FCS on the node ? Is the FCS process
    looping ?

    >Last time this happened it somehow "fixed itself".

    Come on what was changed on the system ;-) ? Did someone do an autogen
    with feedback ? By the way I have come across this in the past !!

    Regards,

    Sunil

| 3181.2 | How many links are available | GIDDAY::SETHI | Ahhhh (-: an upside down smile from OZ | Mon Aug 30 1993 05:48 | 16 |
|  |     Hi,

    It's me again after a good nights sleep. I would like you to check how
    many links are being used and available. Please do the following:

    1. $ mcr ncp show exec char Look for the Maximum links parameter.
    2. $ mcr ncp show exec count look for the Maximum logical links
    				    active

    Can you let us have this figure. I am just wondering if you are
    running out of the number of links available. From what I have
    gathered the server may require 2 links per document access.

    Regards,

    Sunil

| 3181.3 | Resolved. | WAYOUT::CLARKE |  | Tue Aug 31 1993 09:22 | 8 |
| | I don't know if Gil monitors this conference but I believe that this problem
has been resolved. The FCS for the particular node with problems was being run
on a different node.
