I haven't found any note on this subject, although it doesn't mean
that one doesn't exist .... but my question is this ...
I have users using "MAILWATCH" command files in their VMSmail to
notify senders of their absense. The "MAILWATCH" command files do
not work properly for these peoples, and, as they do also have
ALL-IN-1 accounts, I was wondering if it has something to do with
addressing which the "MAILWATCH" command file cannot handle ..
I am rather new to ALL-IN-1 management, and since my DCL is not
adequate enought to modify the "MAILWATCH" command file ( or
even interpret the possiblities .. ) ... does this all sound
familiar to anyone out there, and if so what have you done about
it ..? I can post the "MAILWATCH" file as a reply if necessary.
It is a command file that has been kicking around for some time
( I believe it has been in existance since prior to 1985 ... ) .
Any help would be apperciated ...
Thanks,
Paul

P.s.
I failed to mention in note 3018.0 that I tested the "MAILWATCH"
command file using another account on a node that does not run
ALL-IN-1 and it worked just fine ...

Paul -
I have ALL-IN-1 and use MAILWATCH on my VMS node. I do not, however,
mix the two. I use Auto-Reply under ALL-IN-1 and turn OFF auto-forward
to my VMSmail when I'm away. That way, MAIL_WATCH does its thing for
those getting to me via VMSmail direct, and ALL-IN-1 does it's thing
for those who get to me via "official" channels.
You didn't elaborate on exactly what problems people were having, but I
would hazard a guess that if they're forwarding their ALL-IN-1 mail to
their VAXmail, then MAIL_WATCH is trying to send a reply to
NODE::ALL-IN-1 or something, which is bogus.
You can specify that any mail from a certain node::user *not* be
replied to by MAIL_WATCH, but that kind of defeats the purpose.
BTW, I wouldn't suggest posting MAIL_WATCH here, it's a big mamba.
