    hi.

had an experience last weekend while attempting to upgrade from 2.4 to
3.0. the upgrade failed because the logical NOTES$LIBRARY was assigned
to a different node. this different node was NOT part of the cluster i
was upgrading. this problem has been solved on this system.

BUT, the next system i'm scheduled to upgrade is a 3-node cluster with
NOTES and GPC installed. NOTES$LIBRARY is not pointing to a specific
node, it points to a device "OC05:[NOTES$LIBRARY]". i don't beleive
this will cause the installation to fail, no matter what node i do the
    install from.

BUT, is there any other gotcha i should look for similar to
NOTES$LIBRAY problem. that is, the pre-check doesnot check for
NOTES$LIBRARY, so the only way to catch the problem was the failed
    upgrade.

    		Thanks - ann

| This is a known problem scheduled to be fixed in a PFR.

A reliable workround (if this is an upgrade) is to point NOTES$LIBRARY
somewhere safe, before the installation. All that it's used for is to
provide the sample conference which you can live without, and didn't (I
think) change between V2.4 and V3.0.
