2895.0. "Customization problem after ALL-IN-1 upgrade to V3.0" by MXOV08::NOGUERON () Mon Jun 21 1993 20:43

	I have a customer who just upgraded his ALL-IN-1 from V2.4
to V3.0 and is having problems with customization, he cannot change
or add applications.

	When A1V30START.COM runs, it gives the message:

		CM DEVELOPMENT LOGICALS NOT DEFINED
		PLEASE REFER TO DOCUMENTATION

	Other problems he is having are:

-  After entering to ALL-IN-1 as:

	$ allin1/nocustomization

   and selecting AD, CM, he gets the message:

	%IA-I-LASTLINE, Form CM$MAIN not accessible. See your 
	ALL-IN-1 manager

- When you enter to ALL-IN-1 as:

	$ allin1/user=manager

  and select MGT, CSZ, MA, CA, you get the message:

	Initializaing area history file ...
	Error creating application history file 
		OA$SITE_DEV_ENGLISH:CM$SITEHIST.DAT
	Application area ENGLISH not initialized

  if you select RA the message is:

	%OA-I-LASTLINE, Enter fields and press RETURN or EXIT for menu
	%OA-W-INVGET, Symbol "TITLE=#CM_RES_LITTLE" not found


			Any idea?

    this looks very similar to a call logged at the U.S CSC by Juan Manuel
    Gonzalez - I'm not one for answering notes when a specialist is already
    working the call so I respectfully suggest you call the 1-800 number
    again - I see 3 attempts on the call.
    
    if you have a log of the install I would look at the A1$POSTINSTALL
    section to see if any errors were generated. If not then you should
    rerun A1$POSTINSTALL and keep a log looking out for CM related messages

    please also see the ALL-IN-1 release notes on page 1-8 concerning
    multi-lingual installs in case this applies to you since it deals with
    errors relating to Development logicals. 
    
    Section 2.4 also talks about errors that may be seen during ALL-IN-1
    startup and again this may apply to this system

	This is the same call that Juan Gonzalez logged at the US CSC, he
was on-site last Friday and did not receive any call from the CSC (it seems
that the specialists assigned had some problems to do the international
call).

	I talked today with Kathy, from the Atlanta CSC and she suggested
me to post a note, it you have any other suggestion, please let me know.

    the second paragraph of reply (.1) i.e rerunning post-install
    and both pointers in reply (.2) to the release notes were all serious
    suggestions based on my experience and relevant STARS articles.
    
    If you get a chance to check out any of the three suggestions before
    you next talk with Kathy then I am sure you will find that it is time
    well spent.
