Hello,
An ALL-IN-1 user has a problem when trying to read, edit ,...
an existing document; the operation fails with the message :
Error occurred during operation : NULL_POINTER
He is not sure that it is the first time he tries to access the
document since the upgrade ALL-IN-1 to v3.0; how can he recover the
document ? what is going wrong ?
additional info :
- user tries to access the document from WP
- document is WPS-PLUS
- when Reading the document it gives first the error
Error occurred during operation : NULL_POINTER
then it shows the -------top----------------
a few blank lines, 1 text line
---------bottom--------------
and then the message :
Formatting document failed
gold/w : %OA-I-lastline, formatting document failed
In the meantime, Customer could recover the document (except for 2 lines)
by creating a new doc, GOLD getting the old doc;
at the end he gets the message : Source document is corrupt, 2 corrupt
lines were ignored

Hi Eric and Veerle,
NULL-POINTER problem is due to a corrupted WPSDEF.WPL copy in a new one
from the [.user] directory in oa$lib:.

Sunil, He only has the problem with one document. I don't think that the wpsdef.wpl will solve it. However, I will try it out. The customer is going to send the document to me. Thanks very much for the reply, Veerle | |||||

Hi Veerle,
Well I have seen a number of notes in the WPS-PLUS conference regarding
the "NULL_POINTER" problems. Maybe you should search the WPS-PLUS
notes file no doubt saving you time and effort :-).
The WPS-PLUS conference can be found on FREE::WPS-PLUS.
Last suggestion have you tried Gold getting the document ?
