Hello there,
Does anybody have any comments on the consequences I should expect if I
modified the ALL-IN-1 mailbox from A1 to AM.
My customer is actually a TeamLinks implementation and as DEC MailWorks
does not provide any automatic DDS subsriber entry build functionality
they are interested in fudging the DDS entry creation using the
ALL-IN-1 user creation procedures to get the DDS entry created
to point to the AM mailbox.
IOS was installed with OA$DDS_PRIME set to 1. They would have to
change the existing user template to have 'Mail Directory' set to Y.
What about other housekeeping procedures, or internal processing
mechanisms. Should I expect any problems here.
I would have to modify the mailbox identifier in A1CONFIG. Anywhere
else I should be aware of.
Thanks.. Liz

Liz,
Apart from the technical confusion this would cause when your customer
called the CSC you mean? i'm sorry but most people will assume that
A1 = real ALL-IN-1
AM = DEC MAILworks, TeamLinks Mail, ALL-IN-1 Mail etc etc ...
Wouldn't it be better to leave the mailbox at A1 and use a soon to be
in field test product that allows REAL ALL-IN-1 mail to be used from
TeamLinks?
Apart from DDS you'd have to thinks about NETWORK.DAt, Distribution
Lists and maybe Nicknames
Is it worth the confusion? I know the customer is ALWAYS right.
Regards,
