| 2573.1 | It's v2.4 and MR v3.1B | COPCLU::ELIN | Elin Christensen @DMO, DTN 857-2406 | Fri Apr 16 1993 08:37 | 8 |
| | I forgot to tell that it is ALL-IN-1 v2.4 and Message Router v3.1B.
What can we do with these 150 .NBS files (that are not corrupt)?
If MB$REPOST cannot be used on NBS files in OA$DATA, - does ALL-IN-1 then
have it's own REPOST command for messages that have been divided into
envelope and contents?

|  | Hi Elin,
I'm a little surprised that no-one's answered this yet, as I thought it was
one of those situations that very site hits eventually! (Perhaps the Atlanta
CSC could help?).
I think you've summed up the Repost situation - I don't believe MR can repost
ALL-IN-1 messages, and ALL-IN-1 has no capability built in.
However, it must be possible to hack it! Though it's be very messy. The Sender
queue entry has 2 formats - one of these contains the .NBS filenames for the
content and envelope. If you can get an entry in the queue which refers to one
of your messages . . .

| 2573.3 | Possible solution .. | AIMTEC::VOLLER_I | Gordon (T) Gopher for President | Mon Apr 26 1993 18:05 | 13 |
|  |     Elin,

    	Sorry I didn't get round to answering this earlier, I've been out
    	of the office for a while.

    	Anyway, we had a similar problem here at the Atlanta CSC a while
    	back and eventually resolved it by writing some code to call
    	back to ALL-IN-1 routines to repost the messages. I'll forward
    	more information via Mail.

    Cheers,

    Iain.

    Are these routines robust enough for us to put into the product?

|  |     Graham,

    	I've mailed you the routine.

    	I think it would be pretty straightforward to provide this
    	functionality within SM. However, I'm not sure of the demand
    	for it ?

    Cheers,

    Iain.

| 2573.6 | Thanks! - This should be in the product! | COPCLU::ELIN | Elin Christensen @DMO, DTN 857-2406 | Wed Apr 28 1993 08:47 | 13 |
|  |     Hi Iain

    Thanks for your routines.

    I have often been asked "What can we do with the .NBS files in
    OA$DATA?" And the only answer I could give, was "Delete them!"

    Now, when I know there is a way of doing a repost, I would appreciate,
    if we could get this functionality included in ALL-IN-1 as a menu
    choice under SM MM (Manage Messaging).
    I'll submit an SPR with an enhancement suggestion.

| 2573.7 | NBS files are quite useful really | IOSG::SHOVE | Dave Shove -- REO2-G/M6 | Thu Apr 29 1993 15:21 | 8 |
| | The main thing you (or someone else) can do with them is to run NBSDMP
    (MB$TOOLS:MRNBSDMP) on them.

    While the output from this is pretty technical stuff, it's fairly easy
    to spot the name of the sender and the subject. So at least you have a
    chance to refer back to the sender of the message.

    Dave.

| 2573.8 | Is tool still around / needed in V3.0A ?? | COPCLU::GLARGAARD | Allan Glargaard, DS @DMO | Thu Jul 21 1994 14:48 | 9 |
| | Of course our big customer has run into this problem now that Elin is
    on vacation.

    Is the tool to repost .NBS files from ALL-IN-1 still available? Does it
    work with ALL-IN-1 V3.0A or is there an in-built function to do the
    same?

    Best regards,
    Allan
