A customer has the understanding that ALL-IN-1 V2.4 and V3.0 require
different versions of Message Router. Plus he believes that ALL-IN-1
V2.4 is incompatible with the Message Router for ALL-IN-1 V3.0.
I don't have a V2.4 SPD to prove him wrong.
Is there any truth to what he is saying? (It sounds like a bad dream
to me.)

Customer is fibbing!
when ALL-IN-1 v2.4 shipped in 1990 the latest version of Message Router
was v3.1 so that was the one specified in the SPD.
When ALL-IN-1 v3.0 shipped in 1992 Message Router was at v3.2 so that
was in the SPD.
Both versions of ALL-IN-1 work with either version of MR though
the MR folks do recommend that when using MR v3.1 it be the v3.1b
mandatory upgrade version.
Note 6 contains the product compatibility matrix which confirms
what I just said above or a call to the CSC would have answered this one.
