I need help clearing up some ALLIN1 licensing issues.  The confusion
arises in trying to differentiate between the software product kits
included with the ALLIN1 software distribution (FMS, Msg. Router/MR
Gateway, CDA Converter Library and VAX Notes) and whether a single
PAK for the ALLIN1 product, once loaded, allows these "included" 
products to be installed if in fact individual PAKs for those products
are not individually loaded.  In other words, even if you've paid for 
the whole shebang and need FMS, Notes, MR, etc on your system, do you
still require individual PAK's to be loaded to be able to install them, or
as long as ALLIN1 PAK is there, the others are okay without their own
PAK??

The folks at CSLA (Cust. Serv. Licensing Admin) quote the party-line
that ALLIN1 includes all the others and that they don't need an individual
PAK, but I'm wondering if they aren't confusing the others being packaged and
distributed with ALLIN1 as far as software kits, versus the individaul PAKs 
needed to accomplish these installation even if one price for ALLIN1 pays for
them.

    prerequisite software.

    Also remember that ALL-IN-1 the product has those nice dash things
    in it - unfortunately the licence name doesn't - end of speech!
    
    I would have thought that the 'good book' (Installation Guide Part 1)
    would have cleared up any confusion you had on this issue.
    
    And they turned to page 4-3 and read...
    
    "If you want to install any of the following products from the kits
     supplied with ALL-IN-1, you must register the licences for these
    products, before you install them
    
    o VAX FMS
    o Message Router
    o Message Router VMSmail Gateway
    o CDA Converter Library
    
    The licences supplied for these products are for any processor and any
    number of users. If you already have a licence for one of these
    products, it will be replaced by the licence supplied with the ALL-IN-1
    kit"

    It doesn't mention Notes - so maybe that's an oversight in the
    documentation - GAP will tell us for sure in a couple of hours 
    - but I would have thought that the documentation was self-explanatory

    Follow this sequence:
    
    Install ALLIN1 (sic) PAK for the ALL-IN-1 product.
    
    Start ALL-IN-1 installation and take Register Licences option. This
    will install all our special PAKs for the pre-req products, FMS, MR,
    CDA and Notes. Any existing PAKs for these products will be *silently*
    superseded.
    
    Load any other licences for other products that we have integrations
    for, but don't provide licences e.g. DATATRIEVE.
    
    Install other products, MR, FMS, DATATRIEVE, etc.
    
    Perform ALL-IN-1 installation.

    Sorry about not using the dashes in the ALL-IN-1 product name.  The
    PAK product name was on my mind when I wrote the note.
    
    Also, I DID read the "good book".  However, it was still unclear to me
    whether the proper licenses for the "other" products were included
    under the aegis of the "ALLIN1" license PAK for ALL-IN-1 even though
    the software kits for those products came in same set of distribution
    kits with ALL-IN-1.  In the my previous experiences, even if a product
    were "included" with the purchase of another, I still received a
    separate physical piece of paper with the included products PAK.
    And from checking with some of my fellow colleagues who also read the
    "good book", I'm not the only person who was "confused" on this issue.
    
    In any case, I do appreciate the time everyone took to clear this up
    for me.
