Hi All,
A customer came across the following problem when installing ALL-IN-1
IOS Version 3.0.
%VMSINSTAL-I-MOVFILES, Files will now be moved to their target
directories ...
%DELETE-W-SEARCHFAIL, error searching for
<disk>:[sys0.sysudp.a1030]cm_merge_cms_help.scp;*
%VMSINSTL-E-INSDFAIL, The installation of A1 V3.0 has failed.
What the customer discovered was the logical NOTES$LIBRARY was defined
with the node name ie <node_name>::<disk>:[NOTES$LIBRARY], seems to
have caused the above problem. I am still waiting for a fax from the
customer reporting his findings.
Any thoughts comments ? I will keep you posted as to the progress of
this call, I think it's useful to known if this is a cause of the
problem.
Regards,
Sunil

| 2462.1 | The hacking customer story ;-} | BUSHIE::SETHI | Man from Downunder | Thu Mar 25 1993 03:39 | 17 |
Hi Graham,
Full story from the hacking customer !!!! He sent me a fax this
morning with the full error message and it was:
%SYSTEM-W-NONLOCAL, device is not a local device
\<node>::<disk>:[<directory>]oan$sample_conference.note;\
I called the customer a hacking customer because he was being very
difficult about things and not giving me much information. Like was
there any other error messages etc. He has spent a week on his own
hacking kit install rather than giving me the full error message ;-}.
I will leave it up to you to SPR this one if you don't mind and thanks
to both of you.
Sunil

| 2462.2 | Curses - It *is* supported! | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Tue Mar 30 1993 13:22 | 9 |
I've checked in the VAXnotes VAXnotes support conference, and
unfortunately ( :-) ) thay say this is a supported configuration to
allow users who only have the NOTES_CLIENT license.
Problem reported internally, and we'll look at fixing it in a PFR.
Thanks again,
Graham
