I am Merge/Merge_list ignorant and would like a few pointers.
Having stumbled through a customer example I have a question:
would Merge directives i.e. specifying field length <field:leng>
    and <&tab> work in a Merge_list operation?

Doesn't seem to work the way I'm doing it........

and the customer, who seems to have more experience, complains
    it doesn't work either.

    Help?

    Monica

| Monica, sorry, but the <&TAB> and <DATASET.FIELD[KEY]> type entries do not work in MERGE_LIST operations. You can only include fields from the list file. The MERGE function _can_ use these entries. What are you actually trying to do? Is the MERGE_LIST essential for some reason? mb | |||||
