Okay, as a result of being told I should not include stars
articles (for which I most humbly apologize!), I will sum it up
briefly and get down to the problem.
Customer has V3.0, and has experienced the time managment problem
as described in the STARS article called "Editing an Event Can
Result in Attendee being Removed".
(userA sends event notice to some people, userB responds negatively,
userA reschedules by editing the notice and finds that userB has been
deleted from the list).
This is listed as a "restriction" in V3.0.
The twist on this is that for everyone whom this problem happens to,
if they (the userA's) later on try to read this event, they find that
while the correct time and date of their meeting remains, the body
of their message has been replaced with a "bogus" message, the text
of some other message entirely (one they did not write). And it seems
its the SAME message (a secretary is complaining that a lot of people
are responding to her "luncheon date" - people she never sent it to!)
Any idea what is happening here? When trying to do this "READ" the
userA experiences a very long wait - as if a file is being scanned for
something it can't find and substitutes this luncheon date message for
it.......(?)

Hi Monica,
I should have read this closer the first time. It's the second
part to the problem I'm concerned about. If that can be
reproduced upon demand on an uncustomized system, submit an SPR.
If this can only be produced on the customer system, I'd start by
looking for problems with customizations and mail corruption I've
not seen any problems with mail messages associated with TM
actually having the wrong body files.
If the customer is looking for a solution to the documented
restriction, escalate.

| 2332.3 | Thanks, kindly, Dave | KAOFS::M_FETT | alias Mrs.Barney | Tue Mar 02 1993 14:11 | 12 |
Thanks for the response. I suspect that this problem might
be going hand in hand with a corruption problem, but I will look
into it a little deeper. They are also getting the "Invalid or
Missing Arguments to Function" error when they edit the event
date (which, in yet another stars article, is the result of problems
repainting the index screen - however, it states while a problem
in 2.4, it is supposedly resolved in 3.0 - customer HAS 3.0 !)
I will play with this on our system and get back to you.

| 2332.4 | Verify where the forms come from | AIMTEC::ZANIEWSKI_D | Why would CSC specialists need training? | Tue Mar 02 1993 17:29 | 5 |
Make sure they haven't customized a v2.4 version of one of the
time mamagement index forms. Turn trace on and determine which
form library the form comes out of.
