    Richard,

When a drawer is created, the FCS will indeed create a [.MSG]
directory. This is because the FCS could allow ANY drawer in your
filecabinet to be your mail drawer. ALL-IN-1 however does not support
this functionality, as only your MAIN drawer can be your mail drawer.

I believe with TeamLinks the user can decide for himself which
drawer his mail gets delivered to, hence the need for every drawer to
    have a [.MSG]

| 2315.2 | FCS doesn't care what a 'mail' drawer is | CHRLIE::HUSTON |  | Wed Feb 24 1993 11:54 | 15 |

    Richard,

Kevin is correct in saying that the FCS creates the [.msg]
directory since we don't care which drawer is your mail drawer.

TL can set any drawer to be the mail drawer, problem with doing
this is that you now will break IOS, or at least make your
A1 mail seem to disappear. The FCS will deliver the mail to what
ever mail drawer you tell us. IOS always looks in MAIN, so, as you
can see, you would in effect have mail going to two places and
then what you could see would depend on who you connected with.

Actually ALL-IN-1 will allow any drawer to be your mail
drawer, its the one with the default drawer flag set. But
its true that ALL-IN-1 doesn't have any UI to support the
setting of that flag and by default your mail drawer is
called MAIN, if ALL-IN-1 has to create your FILECAB.DAT.

    Regards,
    Paul
