    Well, I wasn't sure which conference to post this in but since the
    customer uses ALL-IN-1 V24. with Group Conferencing, I thought this was
    logical for starters.  I already looked in the VAXnotes... conferences
    and EASYNET and found nothing.
    
    There is apparently a program called "NoteTaker" or "ListServ lists"
    that will import Internet Mail into Notes conferences.  It sounds like
    a public program on Internet that is a series of command procedures
    that are automatically sent to the subscriber's account they call
    NOTETAKER.  This VMS account called NOTETAKER is for the sole purpose
    of receiving mail from internet mailing lists.  Mail is transferred or
    posted to respective conferences in VAXnotes from NoteTaker.
    
    The customer does not have need to go to the NOTES prompt at DCL. 
    Users are captive in ALL-IN-1 and hence uses GPC as their notes
    interface.
    
    The problem the customer was experiencing was limited to 2 conferences. 
    She could not get Internet mail to post to these conferences but was
    having no problems at all with other conferences.  We compared
    conference entries and nothing was obvious.  There were no mail
    addresses referenced on any of the conferences.
    
    I told the customer to go back to the source from whom she got the
    software and she was understanding.  This is probably "user-supported,
    public software" -- but I was hoping someone out there may have heard
    of it and could shed some light on this subject.

    Interesting, but I can't imagine it has anything to do with ALL-IN-1,
    but no doubt I'll be proved wrong....
    
    There is/are conferences advertised that explain how to get things from
    internet. Perhaps the program will be mentioned there. I don't recall
    seeing it mentioned in the VAXnotes support conference, but I've only
    been following it for a year or two :-) Probably worth trying.
    
    How does the program know which conference the mail is intended for?
    There must be something in the title or from address which tells it,
    and hence that's probably too long, or has an unexpected character in
    it. If it is just a set of command procedures, then you could probably
    stick a few $SET VERIFYs in and debug it, if it's reproducable.

    Just a couple points to expand on .1
    
    I agree with Graham that it shouldn't be related to ALL-IN-1. 
    Presumably the application your are talking about is using either the
    DCL command line interface to VAX Notes or else the callable interface,
    not the GPC interface.  The fact that the end-user uses to GPC to
    access the conference should not matter unless the notes are making it
    into the conference alright but are just not readable to the user.
    
    The VAX Notes support conference is 2HOT::VAXNOTES_BUGS which, in spite
    of its name, is also used to ask general VAX Notes questions.  I looked
    in there and didn't see any mention of your customer's tool but you
    could always ask as some one there may have heard of it.
