| 2131.5 | NOT ALONE WITH THIS PROBLEM | NEWOA::WILSON_S |  | Mon Jan 25 1993 11:54 | 5 |
| | I'd already tried formatting my dictionary. I know that I'm not alone
    in suffering this problem (which seems to have occurred following our
    upgrade to ALL-IN-1 version 3).

| 2131.7 | Try this ... | SUBURB::CLEPHANEB |  | Tue Jan 26 1993 16:20 | 36 |

    Sarah,

    I've managed to fix part of the problem, where the word "Ian" is
    offered as first choice replacement all the time, the problem with
    numerics and punctuation marks still exists though.

    Although its obviously a bit OTT, its a 'FIX ALL' method I've been
    using for quite a while now.

    Enter ALL-IN-1, create doc and GOLD-get any dictionaries you wish to
    retain.

    Delete dictionaries and empty wastebasket.

    Exit ALL-IN-1

    Delete [username.a1]WPL_DICTS.DAT and WPL_LANGS. These get recreated
    when the dictionaries get reinitialised.

    Delete username.PST from [username.A1] directory

    Delete *.LGP files from [username.A1.DOC0-9] directories

    Enter ALL-IN-1, WP DIC, this will initialise dictionaries, CMD, and
    select BRITISH as ENGLISH is the default.

    Try again ...

    Regards,

    Bruce

    ps. I've searched through STARS and found nothing ...

| 2131.13 | Grammar checker in V2.4 had a similar problem | IOSG::MARCHANT | I'm pink therefore I'm SPAM | Wed Feb 03 1993 22:29 | 11 |
| | There was a problem very similar to this with the grammar checker in
    ALL-IN-1 V2.4. The problem was due to limitations of the deferred image
    activation used by ALL-IN-1 and was worked around for ALL-IN-1 V3.0.
    For ALL-IN-1 V2.4, relinking without deferred image activation fixed the
    problem - you might like to see if this fixes your problem too.
    In any case, you should really raise an SPR so that it can be officially
    looked at.
    Cheers,
        Paul.

| 2131.14 | ANOTHER QUESTION | NEWOA::WILSON_S |  | Wed Feb 17 1993 12:38 | 15 |
|  |     Hi,

    A question. When I invoke spellchecker how does it check what
    dictionaries are available?

    I have a personal.lgp in my .doc0 directory.  I also have a
    personalbri.lgp.  I understand that ALL-IN-1 version 3 converted
    the dictionaries. Could it be possible that the personal.lgp is
    still in the search list?

    If this was true, could anyone tell me if I would see the problems that
    I mentioned in my first note?

    Sarah

| 2131.15 | No conversion of personal dictionaries in V3.0! | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Thu Feb 18 1993 08:43 | 9 |
| | V3.0 didn't convert the dictionaries. The system wide ones were totally
    replaced by ones in a new format. Exisiting personal ones will still
    work, and as far as I know, they don't get converted. If it was there
    before, it should still be there now. One of the data files, or a file
    cabinet pointer determines the exact name of your personal dictionary.

    YOu might want to ask in the linguistics conference about this.

    Graham
