Hello,
One of my customer has the following pb:
with ALL-IN-1 3.0 French
an LPB4 Canon port printer.
If he print from a vt4200 to PORT LPB4 (with a customized printer
table) no problem.
If he uses a VT220 instead of the vt420 he cannot print accentuated
characters and semi graphics characters.
In both test he uses the same ALL-IN-1 account and the same connection.
After more tests we discovered that:
1)The pb persists if the vt220 is connected to the vax by a DHU11
interface .
2)It is nearly corrected if the vt220 is connected to a port of a
decserver 200 . But the terminal needs the caracteristic: SOFT instead
of HARD. The only pb is that in this case tne printer does not seem to
understand the initialisation sequence ( <ESC>c in the printer table).
A little horizontal arrow appears on the screen.
The customer must generate a form feed on the printer.
And the semi graphics characters are not printed.
This is an upgraded ALL-IN-1 and with his old 2.4 lpb4 printer table
this customer did not have any pb. (except perhaps for semi graphics
caracters)
My questions are :
1) Could some one explain me the reason of the 1) point ?
2) How to solve the pb of init in the point 2) ?
Thanks for any help

What are the VT220 terminal Printer settings, and are they different from the VT420 terminal printer settings? If VT220 Printer settings are 7-bit try changing it to 8-bit No parity. Richard | |||||
