| 2059.1 | ALL-IN-1 can't recognise "you" as a remote address | SCOTTC::MARSHALL | It's raining again | Mon Jan 11 1993 10:38 | 16 |
| | I don't think the problem is the number of addressees on the message,
    but the method of addressing.

    If I receive a message addressed to MARSHALL (and others) then forward
    it, ALL-IN-1 works out that the address MARSHALL is me, and doesn't
    include me in the forwarded message.

    However, if my address on the message is MARSHALL @ A1 @ IOSG @ REO,
    then ALL-IN-1 doesn't know that is me: the user agent can't make
    assumptions about the possible significance of the routing terms, which
    are the MTA's responsibility. Thus my address is included on the
    forwarded message, and is sent to me, via message router.

    Hope that helps,
    Scott

| | Only if you can work out a way of telling that it is absolutely and
    definitely the same person under all possible circumstances.

    We can't, so you get two copies.

| 2059.4 | Problem with Answer not Forward! | IOSG::COTTINGHAM |  | Tue Jan 12 1993 12:44 | 7 |
| | I think Scott was referring to a problem when Answering mail rather
    than Forwarding. I have no idea on the Forwading gtr 3 Addresses
    problem. Can you give any more information on the Addresses that cause
    Self addressing. This could be caused by an Auto Forward?

    Regards
    Alan

| 2059.5 | Possibly..... | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Tue Jan 12 1993 16:08 | 7 |
| | Another reason for this to happen is that one of the addressees has
    VMSMAIL as their mail destination in the profile, and that *YOU* have
    your VMSMail account set up to auto copy self on send. Then when
    ALL-IN-1 is delivering the mail to this person, it starts up VMSMail in
    the subprocess, and you get sent a copy.

| 2059.6 | issue still exist | EVOAI2::ALETON |  | Mon Jan 18 1993 13:20 | 9 |
| | I check the vaxmail issue and modify the auto copy self but the problem
    still exists!!!!

    More ideas ?

    Thanks

|  | Philippe,
It's all a bit abstract at the moment - can you let us see an example of the
forwarded message so we have some real data to work with? It's always easier
to see a picture!
