Hi there,

I am trying to install ALL-IN-1 V3.0 in a VAXstation 3100 (24 Mb, and more 
than sufficient disk space. Everything goes OK, until  it arrives to the 
point where it starts to link the OA$MAIN image. There it hangs for ever. I 
monitor the process and it seems that it is in an infinite loop! It stays 
there forever... Any clues?

    PS: I have read note 1170.* on this confrence but in my case it did not
    work... Below is the installation log...

    The options D did not work we did not get any information.
    
    I my entry to conclude the topic I was left wondering if the 2.4 files
    in SYS$SHARE had caused the problem.  The pre-installation requirements
    were met.
    
    The ALL-IN-1 installation in this case is it being carried out on a
    cluster/system that did not have ALL-IN-1 previously installed ?  Was
    the system disk in fact a copy of an ALL-IN-1 cluster/system ?  Are
    there such files as SYS$SHARE:DPESHR.EXE present ?  It would be great
    if this could be confirmed because I suspect that this may be the cause
    of the problem.  As I have said I am willing to learn and if my theory
    is proved wrong I stand to be corrected.

    I upgraded my VS 3100 from VMS V5.4-2 to V5.5-1 and reinstalled
    ALL-IN-1 V3.0. This time everything went fine (of course no library
    routines missing this time!).
    
    Suggestion:  I beileve that part of the ALL-IN-1 pre-installation
    checks, should be a check for the existense of system library
    routines and images required during the linking phase. That would save 
    us a lot of time during installation, instead of waiting to arrive at the
    linking phase to find it out!

    The kit that I have is the correct kit:
    
    ALL-IN-1 IOS Server for VMS V3.0 PBL123A  (US) ENGLISH 21-MAR-1992
    
    However, I am still waiting for an answer: 
    
    Anyone can tell why I get stuck, when from the ALL-N-1 Manager account,
    I do: MGT MFC MD IAD?
