    Hi,

    We have encountered a problem that when user send mail using DL, if the
    recipient does not exit, it will return "NO ACTIONABLE RECIPIENT" but
    does not state which recipient in the DL that casue trouble. Does
    anybody know any solution since it is quite common to send through DL
    and user will get annoy that the non-deliverable recipient is
    unknown? We are using ALL-IN-1 2.4, MR 3.1 and SYSTIDY. Please help.

    Thank you in advance.

    best regards,

    Anthony

| 1217.1 | Message Router problem | FORTY2::ASH | Grahame Ash @REO | Tue Aug 11 1992 09:47 | 9 |
| 'No actionable recipient' is a Message Router diagnostic code. It's produced when MR examines the envelope of the message and discovers that it has no-one to deliver it to i.e. all the recipients are on other nodes. You may get some help from the MAILBUS_V1 conference on Forty2 - I'm sure this has been discussed before. Any way, there's nothing that ALL-IN-1 can do - I suspect the fix lies in the MRMAN database. grahame | |||||

| You might also check that the distribution list has been expanded.
    If Message Router gets a message addressed to @INTEREST_GROUP or
    INTEREST_GROUP: or something like that, it might return a message
    like this. Of course, Grahame almost certainly knows more about this
    topic than I do, so he probably knows that the message would never
    get out of ALL-IN-1 this way. Since I can't say that for sure, I'm
    throwing out this suggestion.
