| | currently, yes. Formatting is taken to be the first one... Dunno why,
but is a possible change in a PFR.

The behaviour you are seeing is correct. The type of processing performed
depends on whether you are reading a Document or a Message. This isn't
always true in V2.4, but is in V3.0.
When reading a Document formatting is performed, as defined by the FORMAT
master entry. When reading a Message the message and any attachments are
listed using the compound document text dataset, and formatting is not
performed.
If you want to display a message and attachments with each being fully
formatting do a Print to TERMINAL.
The answer in .1 is wrong, because when reading a message we do not look at
the handling at all. The reason for displaying messages in the way we do
is for performance.

| | Richard,
I think this is wrong - (*I know you are the maestro of it all -but!*)
because my GPC Document worked by using a FORMAT of GPCMAIL and thus
invoking a script to read it - but the limitation was that it had to be
the first document - and this was in EM, not WP.

| | My experience is the same as Winton's -- I have had mail messages with
special handling which were processed correctly... but attachments stay as-is.
I don't know that that's changed.
