We are going to merge two internal ALL-IN-1 system during this weekend.
System A with about 100 user into B with about 350 users.
Both are members of a DDS-net (prime=1) and all ALL-IN-1 users are
subscribers. We are using remote Message Router for TS.
My question:
Which is the best way to merge/move the DDS subscribers from A to B?
My idea is to remove NODE A from the DDS-net, change their profilefield
mdflag to OA$N and finally after the ALL-IN-1 merge run a modified
MAIL_DIR_CONVERT.SCP which loads DDS with subscribers who has OA$N
as MDFLAG.
Any better solutions?

Per-Olof,
More questions than answers i'm afraid. I'm assuming that when node A
is merged into node B it assumes the name of node B and not a new name.
Then it depends on how you merge the profiles - if the entries from
node A end up on node B with the ddsids still set then you have
problems - clear all the ddsids on node A before you merge.
Then from the DDS master node delete node A from the nodes list and
wipe it's (node A) dds database - unfortunately this will give you a
bit of DEcnet traffic whilst the world search nodes are updated so
going for lunch at this time would be a good idea.
<do the merge>
after that you can run you modified MAIL_DIR_CONVERT - though how one
can improve on the original escapes me (:==:) - and it should work.
of course I haven't tried this myself.
