Hi,
I have a small (?) problem. Our Ed services people wanted ALL-IN-1
V3.0 installed on their system. They said that we should "Blow away
the old system" before installing the new one since it was used for
training purposes only.
I (foolishly, but happily) obliged. I left all of the accounts intact,
but deleted all of the ALL-IN-1 directories. I then successfully
installed V3.0.
Now we are told that they do in fact have some "stuff" on that system
that they want to keep.
Now, since the structure of DOCDB.DAT has changed, creating a profile
for existing accounts does not give proper access to the file cabinet.
One option is to restore V2.4 again, then do a proper upgrade. Is
there another option?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
/Don I.

Actually the structure of DOCDB has *not* changed. We use some of the
fields differently, but the file doesn't get converted during
an upgrade.
If you can restore the old system to a known state easily, then that is
probably the simplest and most reliable way to get where you want.
Otherwise, you could convert your old profile to the new format, fix up
the partition seeding, bring back your old DAF, PENDING (maybe), the
file that points to the shared areas (OA$SHARED_DIRECTORY_MASTER.DAT)
so you get all the logicals defined again, maybe do some fixes to
A1CONFIG. Bring back the TM files if you use TM....
Convinced yet? :-)
