1034.0. "No users with APP privilege" by KERNEL::OTHENJ () Mon Jul 13 1992 16:33
Hello,
	Quick question on v3.0....
A customer did a clean installation, and decided to set the APP
flag for the Manager as 'N' so that the manager had no CM privs. He then
realised (at a later stage) that this was needed, and is having problems
setting himself up.
	The OA$MANAPP identifier has been re-added, prvapp="M",
prvapp:U="3", but if he goes into CM, get error " You do not have read
access to any area".
By going to option AM MAP the customer is left with an argument
form overlaying the index form, and if he presses FIND, RETURN, he gets the
message "NO authorised programmers found" so he cannot get to the index
form to "C"reate a new authorised user. How do you get around this??????
Creating another account will not resolve the problem, as they do
not automatically get set up for areas SHARE or BRITISH, so I do not know
how to set this up.
			Thanks

    Go to CM
    <form cm$auth$users
pick an application area e.g SHARE
    TAB and pick a user
    RETURN gives you the
Do you want to Add, Change, COpy, Delete, or Inquire:
and after that you know the rest.

I'm sure there's a more elegant way with WRITE ADD but I like tacky.

    Julie,

Unfortunately there is not a more elegant way than 'tacky' Andrew
described in .1. The MAP and MAL options should be compared with Index
forms and when nothing can be selected an Index usually fails. However,
the only way to add something to the data sets is via the Index, so
options MAP and MAL are different from an ordinary Index. That leaves us
    with...
An IPR has already been submitted to prevent the situation that you're
about to remove CM Manager privilege from the last CM Manager on the
    system...

    Ciao,

    	Simon
