| | Derek,

    It's even stranger than that!

    @t {CR} up to @test {CR} finds it.

@test( {CR} returns are you ready for this
    TO: @test ( ~"~"@ FOR OA$MAIL_ADD_ADDR WI

    Ho hum!

@test(d {CR} returns everyone in every database

@test(de {CR} returns all local profile users beginning with d!

@test(der {CR} returns only 2 of them - I have no idea why

    etc ...

that's the best one if seen in ages and definitely wins best introduced
    v3.0 bug in my book.

and using FIND instead of return is even stranger!

    OA$MAIL_ADD_ADDR strikes again

    Regards,

Mail Address Containing Parenthesis Not Expanded Correctly On Header
COPYRIGHT (c) 1991, 1992 by Digital Equipment Corporation.
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. No distribution except as provided under contract.
PRODUCT: ALL-IN-1 IOS V3.0
OP/SYS: VAX VMS
SOURCE: Customer Support Center/USA
PROBLEM:
When usernames with included parentheses are used to address a
mail message (either in a distribution lists or entered directly
on the message header) they are not expanded correctly. The
address validation routine breaks the address at the opening
(ie left) parenthesis and truncates the last character.
As an example, an address entered as:
 Mary (Smith) Jones @XYZ
after pressing return becomes:
 (Smith) Jones @XY )
This behavior will prevent certain X400 addresses from being used.
SOLUTION:
This has been reported to Engineering.
