    Hello,
    I have a client who is getting an ACL placed on their PROFIL.DAT file
    that prevents users from accessing ALL-IN-1. The ACL allows read access
    to the identifier NETBIOS$ACCESS, and by virtue of the fact that it
    does not mention anyone else, I believe it is excluding all other
    users. They are running ALL-IN-1 V2.3.

    Can anyone identify the source of the ACL ?

| 889.1 | Swapped with OA$ADMIN ? | UTRTSC::SCHOLLAERT | Sweden: oops | Thu Jun 18 1992 08:24 | 16 |
|     Derek,

> to the identifier NETBIOS$ACCESS, and by virtue of the fact that it

    Used by NETBIOS process (PathWorks). Should not occur in ACL
    of files.

    Can it be that for some reason the Values of the identifiers
    OA$ADMIN (which should be on PROFILE.DAT) and NETBIOS$ACCESS
    are swapped in the rights list ?

    Just correct the ACE to : (IDENTIFIER=OA$ADMIN,ACCESS=READ+WRITE)

    Regards,

| 889.2 | I still think it might be PATHWORKS | KAOFS::D_STREET | Thu Jun 18 1992 14:39 | 12 | |
|     Hello,

     I got the user to show the values of OA$ADMIN (%X80010007) and
    NETBIOS$ACCESS (%X80010005) but I don't know if they have been
    swapped recently. There is a feature involving ACL's where an
    ACL will be placed on a file if a non-prived account places a
    fine in a directory that does not belong to it. The ACL will
    allow READ access to the file (as in this case). The problem
    is, what did PATHWORKS think it was doing with the PROFIL.DAT,
    and where did the OA$ADMIN ACE go ?
