I have a customer still running ALL-IN-1 V2.3. I don't know what's
causing the sender to HANG. Whether via the OAMTISEND.COM, or SM MM RS
or <MAIL MTI_SEND_ALL. The FETCHER runs ok.
The logfile stops/loop/hang where it says MAIL MTI_SEND_ALL. When I do
$run oa$lib:sendcheck, the number of messages to be sent matches the
number in the sender queue (SM MM DQ). The are several messages in the
sender queue with more than 1 retries which I don't know how to get
rid of. Once in a while it sends a few messages then it decide to hang
again and it's always same spot in the command file.
Help,
ricardo

Ricardo,
It sounds like you have some corrupt messages in the sender queue (no
SDAF record or no shared directory file, etc.). A quick workaround if
patch K503 is installed is to set the RETRY LIMIT for the sender to 1.
This will cause the bad messages to be thrown off the queue on the
second failure. There is a com file to reset these limits called
OA$LIB:SET_RETRY_LIMITCOM oM or something along those lines that will
allow this limit to be reset. To see what the problems may be with the
bad messages you would use the $SEARCH OA$DATA:PENDING.DAT "MAIL QUEUE"
to see the filenames the sender is attempting to mail. Then verify that
a corresponding SDAF record and shared directory file exist for these
messages.
Hope this helps

Thanks,
That's what I've been doing $search. There were a lot of matches in
there. What I missed was to tie them in in sdaf and shared area.
Last I checked there were about 40 messages in the sender queue. After
32 were sent, the remaining 8 were over 5 retries so I did what I have
to do (opps) Oh well I sent mail to the users to resend them again.
