Why was the behaviour of printing from the read menu changed?
In V2.4 it let you print and left you in your read.
In V3.0 it lets your print but, depending where you were,
gets you back to your index or window mask or switches
to the next selected message.
Is this mentionned in the doc somewhere? Our pilot
users stumble over it and ask why and I prefer official
answers.
Thanks

| 852.1 | To fix reported problems | IOSG::NEWLAND | Richard Newland, IOSG, REO1-D/4A | Thu Jun 11 1992 11:09 | 20 |
The behaviour of Print during a Read was changed in order to fix reported
problems. The operation would intermittently fail depending on the type of
document being read, the type of formatting performed during the Print, and
how much of the document you had read when you did the Print.
The most frequent failures were seen with WPS-PLUS documents. When the
WPS-PLUS formatter opened the document to format it for the read it could
not open the document again to format it for the print.
We fixed these problems by making a print during read terminate the current
read operation so that the document would be closed and therefore the print
would always work.
We did this knowing that we were introducing a change in behaviour but
felt that it was best that a Print during Read always worked.
