    The customer has got four formatter execution queues, and one generic
    queue. A short while ago, their system ground to a halt, because the
    system disk was full.
    
    They found multiple copies of dump files from the oa$formatter, which
    had filled up the disk.
    
    They then looked in operator.log, and found the following messages
    from user JOB_CONTROL.
    
    "Invalid mailbox message recieved."
    "End Of File"
    "Unexpected symbiont process termination"
    "Access violation..."
    
    Are these dump files useful for finding out what happened to the
    formatter?
    
    Ideas?

	Yes, these dump files are useful for finding out why OA$FORMATTER terminated. If OA$FORMATTER includes any modules which are not part of the distributed system then a link map file is also very useful. Richard
