| | Questions 1&2: The document sharing mechanism does not care what the
document type is, of course when it comes to interpreting the contents
of the document you need the appropriate code integrated (Wordperfect,
    Lotus, ...).

I believe that both Lotus and Wordperfect are working furiously on a
V3.0 compatable version of their products, both had early baselevels of
V3.0 so they have been working on it for some time now. I don't know of
any dates, but I would expect both to be available soon after FCS
(currently Feburary 77th using the Welsh calendar ;^} ).

Question 3: When mail is sent by a surrogate on behalf of the boss it
will appear as from the boss (so answers will go back to the boss), but
there will be a 'sent by' field on the message header to indicate
who actually hit the send key.

    HTH,

    Terry

| | We just installed V3 (from V2.3) and ran into some things we didn't
    expect.

    1) Rulers: Why can't the left margin be changed?
Why can't the right margin be justified?
Why can't the Wrap be cleared once it's been turned on?

    2) Where is the on-line user documentation located?

    Thanks,
    Bob.

| 215.8 | Answer to .5's Question 2 | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Mon Jul 13 1992 17:24 | 16 |
| | If you get the pointer to the kit location from the automatic mailer in
7.6, then one of the things it gives you is a pointer to the on-line
    documentation.

In that directory are files called:

    	USER_CHANGES.TXT;1 39
    	USER_HANDBOOK.PS;8 1208
    	USER_HANDBOOK.TXT;3 265
    	USER_REF.PS;8 5502
    	USER_REF.TXT;1 1615

The books are also on the CD-ROM that's out now anyway, so that might
    be easier.

| | Ok, I'll reply to No 2
    >>> 1) Rulers: Why can't the left margin be changed?

In what way?, you can move it to whatever location you want
    e.g. before
    Do GOLD R

        10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80
....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0
    L T T T T T T T T R

now move to location 10 and type L

        10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80
....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0
   T L T T T T T T T T R

    >>>> Why can't the right margin be justified?

Now move to 70 and type J

        10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80
....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0....:....0
   T L T T T T T T T J

Now when you hit return the margins will be set to left 10 right
    justified on 70.

    >>>	Why can't the Wrap be cleared once it's been turned on?

Not clear about this, do you mean turning off when you get to the end
    of a line it wraps?
    This is normal word-processing procedure.

Or do you mean using a W in a ruler?
You can enter ruler and overtype the W.

Or do you mean the soft wrap (Gold-Tab)?
This lasts till you create a new paragraph. (by typing a return)

HTH, if not come back with a clearer description of your issue.
    Richard

Thanks for replying...
I cannot move the left margin on the ruler. When I move the cursor to the
desired position and press L, I get a beep. Nothing else happens. Same thing
when I try to justify the right margin.
The right margin can be moved as it should be.
The Wrap problem is that once I put the W in the ruler, I can't clear it. It
can be moved, but not cleared. When I try to clear it, it beeps.
I also just found another problem...I can't move any of the tabs, just get
beeps.
What is going on here??? Is there a master ruler setup someplace?
Thanks,
Bob.

| | The WPS-PLUS editor beeps when you are setting up a ruler and type
characters other than those which represent ruler settings. These
characters are defined by VMS message strings in the WPLMESS module. The
English version of these messages is:
!+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
! Application dependent messages - RULERS
!---------------------------------------------------------

!+
! These are the characters that represent the various WPS-PLUS ruler settings.
!-

WPL_RLRCENTER "C" ! Centering mark
WPL_RLRDOUBSPACE "D" ! Double space left margin setting
WPL_RLRHALFSPACE "F" ! Half line spacing left margin setting
WPL_RLRHYPHZONE "H" ! Hyphenation zone mark
WPL_RLRJUSTMAR "J" ! Justified right margin setting
WPL_RLRLEFTMAR "L" ! Single space left margin setting
WPL_RLRSPACEHALF "N" ! Line and a half left margin setting
WPL_RLRPARAINDENT "P" ! Paragraph mark
WPL_RLRRIGHTMAR "R" ! Ragged right margin setting
WPL_RLRNORMTAB "T" ! Normal tab stop
WPL_RLRWRAPINDENT "W" ! Word wrap mark
WPL_RLRRGHTJUST ">" ! Right justified tab stop
Could you have linked the WPLMESS module for another language into the
OA$MAIN image?
Did you install a single or multi language version of ALL-IN-1?
