The FCS names objects within a partition in the form DRAWER.FOLDER.DOCUMENT.ATT_DOC where DRAWER is the drawer name in the form [USER]NAME FOLDER is the folder name DOCUMENT is the document number (e.g. 000034) ATT_DOC is the identifier for an attachment. The questions I have are ... 1. Does DOCUMENT have to be all 6 digits or can leading zeros be missed. 2. What is the identifier for an attachment, the SDAF key seems a reasonable value, is this correct? 3. Where are these names used and/or stored? I know that calls to FCS functions often require an external UID in the above form, but are these EUIDs stored anywhere in ALL-IN-1 or are they generated each time they are needed. I would guess that they are not stored (except possibly in memory for later re-use during the same ALL-IN-1 session), but I want to be sure before I tell others that. Thanks in advance for any help, Terry

| Hi Terry,

1. Does DOCUMENT have to be all 6 digits or can leading zeros be missed.

It needs the 6 digits in the external UID.

I hope to get the other answers to you as soon as possible.

Correct, the SDAF key is the identifier.

Usually EUIDs are generated when they are needed.
The only place where EUIDs really are stored is in a user's
FILECAB.DAT, which contains a field holding the drawer-EUID.
