I have recently had some trouble creating DECterms, Fileviews, or any
other DECwindows application for that matter. The session manager comes
up fine and I even get a BANNER session from a DECW$LOGIN.COM. However,
if I can't seem to get anything else going. I can log in as any other
valid account and everything is fine.
I have done the following:
Deleted all decw$*.dat files from sys$login
Deleted and recreated the account in SYSUAF
Created a new empty directory
I then logged in via character cell, and entered the following command
while simultaneously logged via DECWindows, with these results:
$ SET DISPLAY/CREATE/NODE=NATTY
$ CREATE/TERM=DECTERM
%NONAME-E-NOMSG, Message number 02DBC002
%SYSTEM-F-IVLOGNAM, invalid logical name
I know that I somehow brought this on myself by changing something
somewhere, but I can't for the life of me figure this one out. Can
anyone offer any advise?

You're probably doing something like SET TERMINAL/INQUIRE or reading from
SYS$INPUT in your LOGIN.COM.

Message 02DBC002 is %DECW-E-CANT_OPEN_DISPL, Can't open display, as you
can see by giving the DCL command SET MESSAGE SYS$MESSAGE:DECW$TERMINALMSG
followed by EXIT %X02DBC002. Is the new account enabled in your security
list?
