| | No. The only way that a LAT transport is supported is over Ethernet
for the VT1000 series. There is no serial LAT support that I am aware of.

    connexion could be done.

    Thanks for the reply.

To take this question a bit further...

But if the 3100 is on the same ethernet as a VAX could I use a LAT
display rather than a DECNET display? That way I could have a
connection from my workstation to the easynet, that's better than using
    TTA2:

| | As far as I know, only the VT1xxx series of DECwindows terminals
supports the LAT transport for the display. What advantage is there
on a VAXstation to using LAT instead of DECnet?

| | LAT is sooo much faster than decnet. Try using a decterm to a VXT (which uses
LAT...) ZOOOM!

| | No, the appropriate driver etc is not there for LAT on the server side.

| | RE what advantage? -- beside speed (don't know about this - I haven't got
this to work -- yet ;-) ) I can use my workstation to create windows on
    an easynet node... bliss...

RE .6 So the easynet VAX doesn't have the drivers for a LAT display on
a 3100 but it does have the drivers for a LAT display on a 1000, is
    that what you mean?

I'll have a look in the VXT conference to see if that can do what I
    want.

Thanks for the replies so far

| | On the application side, the drivers are the same to a VXT or a 3100. The
problem is that the *3100* doesn't have the drivers to deal with that direction
of lat.
