Hi people,
can I protect bit planes in X so that draw requests can only affect the
unprotected planes?
An application I am porting sets aside two bit planes for drawing it's
own pull down menus. I thought this should be achievable by allocating
two GC's with differently protected bit planes and use one GC for
displaying the pull down menus and the other GC for other draw
requests.
Am I barking up the wrong tree or can anyone suggest a better
alternative?
Walter.

You can do that. See the write mask argument in the GC. Burns | |||||
