Can anyone give me some info on mail from decwindows;
I have a customer who can send mail OK from VMS and decwindows from a
privileged user but sending the same mail from a non priv user he gets
the following.
Normal VMS mail works OK,but from decwindows he gets
"error opening mail file invalid device xxxx:".
The problem is not related to the privileges because if he sets full
privileges he still gets the same problem.The username he used
without a problem was SYSTEM.
How does decwindows mail differ from standard vms mail in relation to
this problem (maybe some logical names etc..)?
The customer is using VMS 5.3.

Try ABBOTT::DW-MAIL. You might also want to give a little more information about how you are running mail (detached, sub-process, from fileview...). Dick | |||||
