My customer have tested the CASE software CONTESSA both on DECstation
3100, SUN SPARCstation 1, it came out the result that our screen
display performance is half the performance of SUN. The customer did
not write any coding, they just used CONTESSA to generate some
spreadsheet displays and we are much slower than SUN.
They used SUNview window system instead of Xwindows, is that make the
difference?
Can we suspect CONTESSA not fully utilize our DECwindows?

Yes, you've guessed correctly. Many third parties are incompetently
porting their software to DEC platforms. So I'm not surprised.
Contessa is a financial application and such applications are close to
my heart. Please mail me your contact at Contessa (Prophecy
Development Corp) and I'll see what I can do.

I am from Hong Kong Software Services, and there is no distributor of
Contessa at Hong Kong. The customer bought the software directly from
States. So I don't have any contact to Contessa right now.
By the way, the customer is Jardine Flaming.
