1545.0. "Pause Message?" by PARZVL::KENNEDY (MaryEllen - DTE) Mon Oct 09 1989 10:22
Seems like this is the apropriate conference for this question. Anyone know
how to set the pause message?

Note 112.0 Pause Message? 1 reply

I was fooling around with FileView, and brought up a window which
appeared to be named "Pause Message." It looked like a DCL command
window, had a prompt of "Message:" I filled it in, and now the
message appears in my Pause Session Window.

The problem is, I can't figure out how I got to the Pause Message,
can't find it in any menu, etc. Can anyone confirm that this is a
FileView option - and how you activate it (my message was "Out to
lunch" and I'd like to change it when I go home at night).

Help About gives this version info:
    	VMS DECwindows FileView
    	Software Version: VMS Version 5.1

I think you must have gotten this box from the Session Manager's
Customize menu somehow. FileView has no relationship with the Pause
    window.

| | One of the Session Manager's customize menus in DECwindows V2
    provides this.

| | Unfortunately, I'm not running V2 yet. I did get that window up once, though...

| | Under V1 you can do the following:
Create (if it does not already exist)
SYS$LOGIN:DECW$XDEFAULTS.DAT
With a text editor, and include the line:
*PauseDialog.PauseLabel.label: This "Fish Tank" Is Hermetically Sealed
Or whatever other text you want there.
