Hi everybody, My customer has the following problem with decwindows and accounting: Under accounting/full he sees TWA processes assigned to his username at times, when he was logged out. Start time of this process is the moment, when he quits session and end time is the moment, when he logs in again. Similar problem described in DECWINDOWS_OLD (356), but no replies. Any ideas?? Michael

| doing a SHOW DEV/FULL on my 3100 in LAVC says:

Terminal TWA10:, device type unknown, is on-line, record-oriented device,
    carriage control.

Error count 0 Operations completed 2
Owner process "MORANDI" Owner UIC [SYSTEM]
Owner process ID 23E00054 Dev Prot S:RWLP,O:RWLP,G:,W:
Reference count 1 Default buffer size 511

Terminal TWA11:, device type VT300 Series, is on-line, record-oriented device,
    carriage control.

Error count 0 Operations completed 2945
Owner process "MORANDI_TWA11" Owner UIC [SYSTEM]
Owner process ID 23E00057 Dev Prot S:RWLP,O:RWLP,G:,W:
Reference count 2 Default buffer size 80
So I guess these are DECterm windows. Maybe ACCOUNTING keeps track
of VMS processes and server_driven DECw terminal emulation processes
in a different way ? (actually this explanation doesn't sound good to me).

re: .1 Don't get confused with TWA811/810 which is the PARIS-BOSTON
           flight :-)

| There is a problem with DECterm on Ultrix where it doesn't always kill the process running in a window when the user quits out of the session manager; I think it might depend on what the process was doing at the time the session ended. The same type of problem may exist with DECterm on VMS. -- Bob | |||||
