    looks like it is world readable.

| | If you try getting it from flume, you will have to use rcp, not dcp. The decnet
guest account on our production machines is chrooted to ~uucp.

|  | there's also a copy on WJG::X11R3:
fixcore.tar has the 10 MIT patches applied.
WJG is a VMS node, FTSV should work fine.

| | Thanks for all the help! I was able to get a good copy networked
    over from WJG. I notice it has both the core.tar, core.tar.Z
    and constituent directories for core.tar.

    Thanks, you just saved our cc and DEC $400.

| | FWIW (give you've fixed you're problem..) you can't COPY the kit off
    DECWRL to a VMS system. Use EXCHANGE/NETWORK/TRANSFER=BLOCK. Which, of

I routinely use FTSV to copy compressed tar files from DECWRL and other
*nix nodes. It works just fine!
To repetitively repeat this again one more time:
  1) Use FTSV
  2) Use a *current* version of LZDCMP with the -b -x2 switches
  3) Use TARREAD (the source of which is available in the GNU notes file,
     or from VINO::[withrow.public]tarread.c
